Childersburg Speedway is a three-eighths mile dirt oval located in Alpine, Alabama. Childersburg Speedway opened in 1996 and operated through the 2001 racing season. The track also operated during the 2005 and 2006 seasons. Tim Bright, a driver from Waco, Georgia leased and reopened the track in 2008 before closing in the middle of the season. Bright's son, Tim Bright Jr., said that rumors and misinformation being spread about the track caused the car count to drop. He said they decided to close the track until things settle down. At the time of this writing (July, 2008), Childersburg Speedway is closed until further notice.
